All our phone volunteers have personal experience of the music industry and the issues that Music Support covers.

They have been through our rigorous training designed and facilitated for Music Support by professional trainers in this field, in consultation with The Helplines Partnership.

We do not currently offer 1-1 therapy. We may signpost you to fully qualified Service Providers or funders who could potentially finance your treatment.

We do not help publicise music. Our mission is to help individuals in any area of the UK music industry suffering from mental, emotional and behavioural health disorders.

Our mission is specifically to support those in the UK music industry, so we are committed and focused on doing this. If you are working within the UK music industry, but are not a UK citizen, we can still provide help and support provided you are UK based. If you are based in the US, we work very closely with MusiCares who are certainly set up to cover a wide range of financial, medical and personal emergencies and we’d recommend you reach out to them.

Music Support is a peer-to-peer charity that was set up by the industry, for the industry. We welcome volunteers on board to help deliver our core services;

Safe hubs – helping to hold a space backstage for people to be supported with their mental health, attend a 12-step support group or just chill. Our safe hubs are a destination for relaxation and resource and our volunteers are at the heart of this.

Music Support volunteers undergo training to help them to carry out their roles – this includes Mental Health First Aid training.

Volunteers must be 18 years or over.

If your event is a good fit we are sometimes able to provide a speaker to talk about Music Support and other things that relate to what we do. Please email info@musicsupport.org briefly outlining what it is that you’d like us to bring to your event in a speaker and we’ll let you know if we can make it happen.
