Helium London presents ‘Pressing Matters’, in association with Music Support and MATCHESFASHION.
Curated and created by Pavement Licker, ‘Pressing Matters’ is a unique exhibition and fundraising auction, seeing leading contemporary artists creating unique pieces from rare test pressings and vinyl donated by the biggest names in the music industry. Launching on May 4th, ‘Pressing Matters’ will open its doors to art collectors and music fans alike for a month-long show at 5 Carlos Place – the central London home of MATCHESFASHION – with an online auction for the pieces at www.heliumlondon.com.
Crucially, every last penny raised from the auction will be in aid of Music Support. Coinciding with Music Support’s 5th anniversary, music artists, their management teams and record labels have come together to support their peers who may be struggling, more so now than ever due to the ongoing impact of Covid.
Presenting this Helium London event, founder and CEO Jennifer McCormick says:
“Navigating a world in recovery can be a daunting, overwhelming experience with fear of being judged leading to many folks protecting their sobriety from common knowledge. Creating this exhibition has been the most wonderful convergence of my personal and work life in order to champion Music Support. It has brought together phenomenal talent without prejudice and forged new creative relationships all united in breaking down barriers surrounding addiction and mental health”.
Speaking of the exhibition, Matt Thomas, Co-founder and Chair of Trustees from Music Support said:
“Words can’t express our gratitude to all those who have come together and donated vinyl or time to this incredible project which will enable us to reach and serve more people at this incredibly difficult time for the industry. Music Support was created to have a direct, positive impact and 5 years later we continue to provide relevant services, to more people, across a broader section of the music industry, than ever. This couldn’t be a more fitting 5th birthday celebration. Thank you.”
