Norman's Story
Norman Beecher
Norman has extensive experience in working with addictions and in the training and supervision of counsellors in the field, having graduated from the world renowned Hazelden Foundation School for Addiction Studies counsellor training programme in 1997. At the heart of the work Norman does is Person-Centred Therapy, supported by various approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Enhancement Therapy and Twelve Step Facilitation. He has worked internationally in Bermuda, the USA, and the Caribbean.
Prior to Music Support Norman worked as a learning development specialist at Forward Trust, a leading UK addiction charity, for the last 10+ years. He also runs his own private counselling practice and has helped to develop Music Support’s volunteer training and supervision for the last two years on an ad hoc basis.
Norman is an approved MHFA England instructor and certified recovery specialists. He is in recovery from his own addiction and is resolute in his belief that every individual has the ability to heal and grow with the appropriate guidance and support.
